Brad Delp died last month

Brad Delp of Boston, one of the all-time greatest singers in rock-and-roll took his own life on March 9, 2007. He was iconic. His falsetto was incredible. The debut Boston album was the first record I ever bought with my own money as a kid and remains my all-time favorite. I'm glad I actually got to see him perform live.

It's hard to imagine taking your own life but rock stars seem to do it far too often.

Comments:

Dave,
Loved his music too. So sorry to hear of his passing.
It is strange how music makes sign posts in your life. "More than a feeling" is my favourite Boston song.
All the best

I am grateful for Brad's contribution to music. I can't believe it's June and I just just now learned of Brad's passing, and that only from randomly surfing blog's! Boston was also the first album I bought with my own $!

Boston was and still is one of my favorite bands. The vocals of Brad and the rest of the guys are a stand alone sound. However, suicide should never be the solution to anyones problems or hurts.

For someone who gave so much to his family, friends, community, fans and of course Rock music; how could be so selfish and take his own life? That's about as selfish as anyone can be.

Too bad you don't get to go to heaven for being a "nice guy" with a great voice.

Sadly, Brad never learned that he was not his own; that he had been bought and paid for with a very heavy price; the blood of Jesus.
(1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

The solution to despair and hopelessness is not suicide, but faith in God.

Christ promises that He will give us rest from our problems.

"Come to me, all you who are tired and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you (Psalms 33:20-22).

If you're thinking about suicide, tell someone. Tell your parents, your brother or sister, your teacher or school counselor, your pastor or youth minister that you are thinking about suicide. If a friend tells you that he or she is serious about suicide, then you need to tell someone who is responsible and can help.

Accept the free gift of eternal life and salvation, if you haven't already.

Romans 10:13 says:
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

John 1:12 says:
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, He gave the right to become children of God.

When we accept Christ, God gives us a brand-new life and sees us as completely holy and righteous. You may not see the physical change overnight, but the process begins from the inside out. Once you accept Christ into your life; you're then standing at the doorway of a new life. Walk on through that door and pursue a relationship with God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. You'll be astonished at how your life will be blessed with new opportunity and hope for the future.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
(2 Corinthians 5:17).

"God made Him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God"
(2 Corinthians 5:21).

Because of God's salvation through the death of Jesus on the cross, we can have assurance of eternal life with God.

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.(John 5:24)

Suicide is NOT the answer to your problems and hurts, but can only result in eternal separation from God the father.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to Father, but through me."

Accepting Jesus is the easy part; it's only as simple as a three letter word; Y E S.

Say YES to your salvation. Say YES to the plan that God has for your life. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
